How would you go about making a Scoob rear wheel drive?

If I simply took the front drive shafts out would the front diff just spin and if not could the rear diff and shafts handle the power?

Thinking of building a drift car after seeing round one of the OPT Drift club today, looks like awsome fun

 

REmember....

200hp between 4wd is 50hp per wheel, 100hp per axis.

If u disconnect front shafts, the rear diff and driveshaft must handle twice the power they were made for....so make your maths and light some candles to Saint Bang, because you'll get a call from him soon.

 

Not sure how making a 4WD into 2WD would be fun....though making a 2WD into a 4WD would be intesting...

 

I know what you're saying and that was indeed my first thought but theres plenty of 450+bhp cars out there still running standard prop, rear diff and shafts.

Ignoring this problem though how would I stop the front diff from spinning? I assume I could just weld up the gears in the center diff but was hoping of something a little less permanant or better still switchable.

I've been into most forms of motorsport at some time or another but this tops the all. seeing these go round one at a time was amazing enough but when the finalists raced in pairs it was just mind blowing.

I gotta do something as there wasn't a single scoob out there and I know they'd have the chassis for it.

Ive been to the option days at silverstone in my type r, much more fun then drag racing.

Thanks Buck that is exactly what i wanted.

Think I'll modify a spare diff just as a trial and see how it goes. Will turn down the boost aswell to keep things from breaking.

 

I Lost the viscous couplings in the gearbox, which made it rear wheel drive, It was quite strange how it handled with 300+ through the back wheels, The rear also tramped under hard exceleration, was not nice & i think because it was designed & weighted for all wheel drive, further handling & suspension setup would be required for 2wd.
Even more fun on wet roundabouts when Boost Kicks In though
