Cool Help - New subaru owner is clueless..

Ive just bought the wrx sti 2005 model - I have a couple of things im not sure about.

The guy at the garage says the prodrive kit will take it up to 320bhp, but all my mates are saying more like 300. Is the salesman lying to me?

Secondly, Im totally unsure which induction kit to go for. Im after a meaty noise (obviously) and lots of bhp gain. Price is not as important.

Can anyone offer help on either question? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't say lying as much as being economical with the truth! Official figures are 305ps and 299 ft lbs if memory serves.

Fast enough!

If not, Go for the 333 at TSL, but wave goodbye to your warranty!

Apparently induction kits are not a good idea on our cars. The reasons I've heard given include:

1) Induction kits can vibrate which in turn can damage the MAF sensor.
2) They tend to suck in the hot air from the engine bay without heat shielding.
3) Uprated panel filters are more than adequate.

Cheers

Agreed with above................

An induction kit alone will not give much of a gain in bhp (you probably wouldn't notice)

Stick with the Panel filter, IMHO
