2.5 litre conversion
after blowing a hole in my piston,i have decided to go for a brand new 2.5sti engine instead of a re-build.im also going for the 20g turbo.i was wondering what sort of power ppl got with there 2.5 conversions?
i have a fmic, full decat ,induction kit, cold air feed and electronic boost controller.the cars going to get remapped with the z4 ecu in place.

i have been hearing some horror stories of ppls gear boxes braking when they fit a 2.5 conversion. the car has dome about 50,000 miles.i was hoping that the gearbox would last me a good 18 monthes.any one had problems with there gearbox.i know the sti 6 would be a good upgrade but funds limit this happening.

If you treat it right it should last.
I have an engine setup like Dyney's but with a bit bigger turbo and 1.2-1.3bar and have had no problems with my ver3 sti gearbox. The gearbox has done 162,000k's but only 12,000 with the 2.5 and only 4,000 of that with 1.2-1.3bar.
