Intake Manifold + Vacuum Pressure

Intake Manifold + Vacuum Pressure
Morning...
Yesterday I had the bonnet open doing some work on the Intercooler piping.
I booted up the engine to listen for any leaks etc and heard a noise comming from the front left section of the intake manifold.
I have also noticed that when I boost quite hard that I get what sounds like air escaping or air getting sucked in.
It kinda sounds like a slit in a hose and water is pissing out but all hoses are new samco's and all have been checked.
I am thinking if maybe it could be the intake manifold gasket or the throttle chamber gasket that could be fawked? I dont think the latter of the two because the noise is not comming from up that area!!
If I connected a Vacuum Gauge up to hose fitting on the manifold and its reading is low Should I expect it to be a cracked gasket or could it be something else?
Thanks
