Default How much of a job is swapping cylinder heads?

Whats involved, engine out I would guess?

Is it just (basically) undo everything, take everything off, remove heads, replace with new heads, put everything back on. Any special setting up required?

Tried a search but couldnt find anythign useful

Nezz.

Basically that yes.....it would be worth checking the block is surface flat or skimmed, new head gaskets. New heads have valves lapped in, new collets, oil stem seals & if are new units, it may be worth reaming out.

Plus you have to make sure you get the timing spot on, if you're swapping heads the cams will be in different positions, and tighten the bolts down in the correct order to the correct torque. If it's for a car to be tuned it's maybe worth converting to studs while you're at it.

Oh yeah, engine out
