wrx ra still smoking after full bottom end rebuild
hi guys i have a wrx ra the first problem was the car was smoking badly and had bad compression so i had the bottom end rebuilt with 2 pistons new rings all oil seals etc and now have had it put back together the car has good compression now but when u rev the car up u see some smoke a little bit blue smoke but when u let it idle its not smoking much could it be the turbo seals or somehing i dont no and i have spent too much on this car allready and i am soon gonna give up i am having the turbo changed this week the head gaskets were changed as well but the heads were untouched i was told that not much goes wrong with the heads so i left touching them any ideas would help please guys

Estimating here:
Turbo is a good starting point. Seals there maybe
Valve stem seals obviously were not changed when it was all apart?
My £££ is on the valve stems, but try the turbo first as it's external.
If it is the valve stem seals, that is a big job all over again. Heads should have been done at the same time as the bottom end...would have cost you almost nothing!
Good luck,
Graham.

Scooby Regular
how long has it been run since the 'build'???
quite often after a new engine is run you'll find excessive smoke, etc. caused by the original problems................i.e. oil collecting in the exhaust, etc.......might have to put a few miles on the clock before it burns off the old debris...........??
