Default Z4 ecu

One for the ecu brainers:

I think this has been asked before.

Is there a way to tell the difference between a 260ps Z4 ecu and a earlier 240ps ecu apart from:

Reading the Z4 label on the tin!
Reading the boost level
Reading the software on the chip (i dont have any means)

i.e are there any marking on the board inside the tin? I did notice some codes inside on the chips but none marry up with the codes on the outside tin.

Reason I ask is becuase I am unsure if i am looking at a genuine Z4.
The case has Z4 on it but is is clear that it has been opened (screws are mashed) for no apparent reason - There is no evidence of a chip having been installed at any point (no chip holder). Cant see why they would remove the case other that to disquise it as a Z4 to raise more cash for it.

Cheers

Andy

Some people are just nosy. I opened up my old W6 ECU to see what it looked like inside

Previous owner might also have checked to see if there were any non-standard chips installed.
