Default engine question

iv been to look at a short engine for my car its total striped but it has all the internals in still ,pistons look fine took the sump off and there isnt any play in the rods but when i pulled the crank pully there seems to be a littel play forwards and back wards is this normal (IT IS VERY SLIGHT ITS GOT TO BE LESS THAN 1/2 A MIL)

this is endfloat and you have to have some .1/2 mm is excessive but i suspect it feels more than it actually is. if you have access to a d.t.i., put it on and check howmuch there is. not sure on the exact clearance for a scoob but 0.1mm is about the norm on most engines.

when i push and pull it i cant see it move but i can feel it the, only gauge i have is a vernier
