Default setting off in the mornings

Hi
It only does this once. First time I set off in first gear it judders and it does not matter how smooth with the clutch I am. After that its fine? any thoughts?

Sounds like good old clutch judder - pretty common on these cars. It'll probably get worse eventually and will require a new clutch and the flywheel will need refacing. You might be alright though, live with it as long as you can!

i've had this for the past four years with my car, can be annoying, but seems largely harmless. I've read that a full bore standing start clears up the plates, but TBH it's never been that bad.

Generally it's a cold, squeaking, rattling, juddering, annoying thing for about 15 mins... then comes the bliss..!

Scoobs are bi-polar I reckon...

Yep, mine does that sometimes. Normally when the temperature has dropped substantially overnight. Tends to disappear within half a mile of driving or so.

no problem mate - these things can be so temperamental it's unreal

After the first few weeks of ownership I perfected the smooth start pretty well. It's almost blipping the gas and letting out the clutch on the blip, with no gas applied - if that makes sense - it just seems to prefer that way.

Of course as I said before cold mornings are a sod, and it's almost as if the car doesn't want to wake up

Another tip, if you have the time, is to just let the car idle for a minute or two before driving off, I seem to have a smoother initial ride when I have time for this.

I get the odd Judder...when it's cold. I can live with it though as mine doesn't seem that bad.

Like MrDBM says, cold, squeaks rattles and judders for the first 10/15 mins....then everything's about right and it's time to play.

Although I do find my new Ninja Backbox helps to overcome the squeaks and rattles
