Default Open or closed loop??

Morning All,

Am I right in thinking that the lambda sensor is in ‘closed loop’ when it’s reading the Oxygen levels from the sensor and adjusting AFR via the ECU, or is that ‘open loop’? onder2:My car (STI6 JDM) has a knackered lambda sensor (I think) as when I switch the Apexi o2 sensor thingy option to what I think is ‘No’ on the FC Commander (can’t read Japanese, must get an English FC commander manual!!) the symptoms of the car almost feeling like it’s going to stall when dipping the clutch disappear. Or am I in fact setting the o2 thingy to ‘yes’ and the senor to ‘open’…DOH-As you can see, I’m a little confused.

Thanks in advance for advice or English FC commander user manuals you can give me!

The "up" button is "Y" for closed loop, that is the preferred option assuming your O2 sensor is working OK.

cheers

Thanks for your input Andy. I thought that was what you said when you fitted the Apexi. I've also Googled the open, closed loop thing and now understand the difference. It's amazing how much information you can find on the net when you want to;and i thought it was only good for ****!!
