Consequences of worn OE front Strut Top mount's?
put it in here instead of 'suspension' as I thought it'd get more views....
Car has had KYB AGX dampers on for a few months now.. and now at varying speeds when turning quickly I get a loud click/knock from what appears to be the strut tops.
I'm not 100% certain it IS the top mounts tho... (going in for investigation on friday @ the clinic)
I have read plenty of the recent 'knocking suspension' threads recently- I dont want to be accused of jumping on the same 'bandwagon'.. BUT the noise IS there..
What are the consequences of driving around with potentially worn/damaged strut top mounts??
Suspension failure?
Geomtetry issues/tyre wear?
Is it worth me sourcing some Sti top mounts ASAP?
Help guys...

Sounds like they could be going. There is a bearing cast into the top mounts and like all bearings, it will eventually wear. I don't think there is much chance of them "failing" as this is only likely to happen if you are doing a lot of suspension stretching jumps! The obvious thing is, like you say, the slight changes in geometry that may affect tyre wear. I personally wouldn't worry about a failure, but if they are concerning you and the noise is annoying you, change them.

Agree with Mark.
Is it the nearside rear by chance?
Mine rattles sometimes now, and is getting quieter by the month!
Remember I have AVO coil overs on and maga negative camber.
Graham.

911- yup, nearside rear and NS/OS fronts...
So; STi for front and rears?
..Or STi rear and MRT for the front is the question

fwiw= These: are identical to the MRT top mounts- direct from the manufacturer..
http://www.noltecsuspension.com/prod...trut_mount.php
(they are then re-branded as MRT for export)
Waiting to hear on GB pricing on 22b.com
