check engine light

i cleaned the engine on my my99, since then the check engine light keeps coming on on the dash any ideas why

what you removed and forgot to put back, ie plug of some sort, also did you wet wash it?

i jet washed it, i coverd the altenator up

only the alternator,oh dear, let it dry , then try it,
