You will probably find it more hassle to fit a FMIC in all honesty. The STi 8 i/c is meant to be a great bit of kit and capable of running up to 450bhp (dont know how true that is) i personally went for a fmic as it works really well with my set up,and looks

I'm no expert but I doubt the STi8 tmic is up for 450 BHP

The installation is a quarter job if you have also the I/C "Y" hose and STI underscoop to direct the air into the wider I/C.
Although I have one ready to fit in mine I wonder could the STI I/C increase lag in a slightly modified WRX (exhaust, remap) with factory turbo?
Two friends that have fitted STI8 I/C in place of WRX told me they have increased - about 150/200rpms - lag due to bigger I/C core, is this possible?
And if yes this means the STI I/C has almost same core pressure drop with the WRX one but due to bigger size the turbo needs some more time to fill it up with air or am I wrong?
