Hello,
I have just got my new IC fitted today and cant refit my Cusco brace as it fouls the IC. I knew this before fitting, but now need another brace that clears the IC.
Anyone know which ones will fit. I would like the STI carbon one if it fits.
Cheers,
Wayne.
PS the Cusco one is a flat 1.5" wide bar.

You are a lucky bugger mate. The MY00 does not need the mod/welding to the IC as it has a different Idle Speed Control Valve to my MY98.
So what you need to do is this (taken from the 911's thread)
1)Cut down the clutch res by an inch
2)Slighty tap/hammer the bulk head mount for the tie bar under the IC to allow the Y pipe to clear.
3)A samco 51mm elbow as the hose with the IC is too short. You need the long leg version from J W Racing as Demon Tweeks dont/cant get one.
4)Make the brackets to hold the IC, either from the existing ones or from the STI versions. This is most of the work.
5)Cut down the hose between the IC and throttle body to 45mm in length.
6)Blood sweat and tears!!
I thinks thats it, but see 911's thread in projects
Last thing, I still need to sort the scoop and under tray to allow enough air to flow into the IC.

RON,
Have a look here for all the pics I have collected from the various threads.
The pic "engine_bay_1" is from a 99 car so it will give you an idea what the difference is with the dump valve area.

Should add to look at how 'Flat4' has got - away with it in a more elegant way to me as he is more willing to cut n shut things, especially the Idle control valve.
Even when all the above is done, it is very very tight fit and is a frustration to remove/re fit compared to the OEM TMIC.
As to getting the air to it:
The surface are is huge compared to stock, and the scoop/tray area will be the next thing to focus on as the warmer weather approaches and so do hot hill climbs!
In today's cold air the air flow isnt a problem, but soon....
You can get an Sti8 scoop for the classic face lift bonnet that comes right up to the front edge of the original mounting area. If you cut the nice/perfect/rare alloy bonnet (!) the Sti8 TMIC will be fully exposed to the air and covered by the scoop.
Re fitting the original scoop will also hide things should you want to sell.
