Right im hoping someone can help me on exhaust noise problem that I have. Aparently in Scotland its against the law to have an exhaust that is louder than standard! So I have great problems in driving anywhere without hassle from the police! Anyone know a good effective way of reducing the noise on a upraited exhaust? An idea I thought of would be to put some sort of butterfly type idea in the exhaust that could be open when on the open road an some sort of switch that closes the butterfly enough to keep the police happy! All Impreza exhausts must be under 80db! Mine was 107db!

Anyone ideas?

I dont know the law mate but i have just baught a wrx and i am planning on replacing the back box for something much louder than standard. I live in central scotland and there are plenty of scoobies about here that you here before you see. All the best.

hi jas gtr just looked up the sva noise limit for ya and they say your aloud 101db max so you just need a slightly quiter back box hope this help here is a link to the sva site .......
