what is the correct procedure for finding out diagnostic codes on my 01 wrx .

I have found the 2 green connectors and 2 single black wires that connect in to a black connector . When connected there is no pulsing lamp and the fan comes on and off .

What am I doing wrong?

either pop into a friendly subaru place or buy a copy of delta dash or equivelent software

 

Yep, ECU reset and check can't be performed on newage cars
