Question about exhaust downpipe

Hi, got a MY95 import its still has its catalyst with all the heat shielding in place - when i decat it is there any need to put the heat shielding back or will it be ok without???

Should OK without, normally with a decat the heat shield normally has to be cut to be refitted anyway.

So thats whats missing from my engine bay since the decat. I thought there was something not quite the same. Haven't noticed any difference in the way it drives, so must be ok.
