Default MPH conversion. Accurate?

iv got an imported impreza and iv noticed that on the way down the motorway yesterday 70mph was exactly 3kprm in 5th. on the way back 70mph was exactly 2500rpm.

whats the crack here then?

also 30mph seems very very slooooooow.

i need to find my gps receiver! christ knows where its vanished to!

I have a my93 JDM and have the same problem. I have tested with my GPS snooper and found that my speedo was around 12 mph out both at the bottom end (10 - 20mph) and the same at the top end (100mph)

I have put it down to a combination of conversion kph to mph and the fact that i'm running on 17's with 205 / 40 / 17 rubbers. Not sure if this is the correct tyre size for these wheels.

I've jus learnt to live with it. Hope this helps

thanks for that. i was suspecting that the conversion may have put it out a bit! the car also has 18's!

I must find my gps receiver and test! is it 12mph slow or fast mate? at both 30 and 70? just so i can get a rough guestimate of the speed im actually doing! lol

thanks for your help!

Mine reads slow so if i come up to a 30 mph camera i go through at 40 on my clock. Thats how i noticed it, i would slow to 30 mph for a camera and most people would speed away from me.

You should be running 205/45/17 or 215/40/17.
