Rev limit with Power-FC - comments / suggestions....
The Power-FC does rev limit via fuel cut.
This has potential issues with heat / det.
Any comments from the mappers on this.
Is it best to drop the boost and retard the ignition before the rev limit activates.
Would it be prudent to look into a stand alone rev-limiter that works on ignition cut? The power-FC-Pro uses ignition cut.
Cheers

i have a power fc fited to my scoob and the rev limiter is a soft cut one. was messing with mine was going to use it as a kind of launch control and there was no knock link activety or the apexi commander knock sensor! this was done at 5000 rpm the mapping on my car was done by ccsperformance of tuxford and the boost is 1.bar rising tio 1.5 at 6000rpm then droped off to 1.3 to the rev limit with plenty of fuel in at that point and runs very well. only ever seen one green on the knock link ever

Just asking before I get mine fitted/mapped.

John, If your PFC does not control the boost very well then it is due to the set up, not the ECU.
The power FC is a very capable boost controller and can run at 4 preset levels as set during mapping.

Have to agree with Andy regards boost control..... i've found it more than capable. It takes a bit of time to get the duty set right (helps to have FC Datalogit so you can see the actual duty cycle) but once you have it the control is very good. Only set back is for pre97 cars you're limited by the standard map sensor to 1.2bar ish unless you get the PFC boost control kit.
