ScoobyClinic's Rolling road (part2)
Popped in for some Redline heavyweight gear oil and geometry and had a play on the RR. My first ever
so here is the graph:
299.2bhp (flywheel) 242 @ the wheels IIRC.
266lb/ft torque
Happy with the power, a little surprised at the torque (had hoped it would be higher)
242bhp @ the wheels IIRC.
Dyno relevant mods (there are plenty of others ) :
UK ODB 2L turbo engine
HKS FMIC
MD305 hybrid Turbo
Uprated Walbro pump
SX reg
Possum Link ECU
AVCR EBC
550Injectors (DENSO form RX7)
Aquamist 1S water injection
H+S 3" decat dp
HKS Hiper- modified centre (BLOODY loud! wish we had a soundmeter when it was on the rollers)
V2 Gruppe-S headers and upipe (lagged)
Rollers are dyno dynamics- same as 'GForce'.
I would like to give the next Well Lane a shot purely for comparison figures..
Now- how can I improve that torque figure with the block I have?
Ideas welcomed..
Thanks to the clinic lads for sorting the motor (as per usual ) and for the banter and being made to feel welcome (as ever )

Hi Andy.
I wasnt timing the run.. ??
(I wasnt driving either)
The fan is a front facing fan
(it's a temporary fan too as the big boy is expected to arrive soon according to Adam.)
The car was mapped on the road also..

3rd run IIRC.
mapped by PatH a while back on the road with Andy @ the clinic doing the driving.
It's going to need some looking at I think. to sort out that torque.

Brad, my stock Sti has more torque/power than that....it all seems a bit low compared to the mods you have?
Thinking of going to the Clinic's RR in the summer, what are the costs involved for a 'power run'?
I don't know the company from Adam.
Graham.

Graham- yeah- I know I'm concerned somthing isn't (subtly) right with the car now It IS the first time it's EVER been on a RR tho.
Been on delta dash once beofre on the road- but that was before the decent mods happened.
argggh
now the headgames start again as I try to figure out how to 'fix' the situation
I'm a bit gutted at the low torque tbh.
Re: pricing- think it's around £45+vat for a straight power run.. if you want diagnosis and long chit chat think it will be more..

before you get too worried , I would get a few results from other cars at scooby clinic, at worst private runs like yours but at best on a r/r day if they host one. that way you can compare with fairly like for like data , rather than "such and such got xxxbhp and xxxlb/ft at a completely different set of rollers".
IMO, it is impossible to know which rollers give true figures. just because standard cars are a few away from book is not proof with modded ones. consistency is the most important thing whether the rollers read low or high. if your car goes to well lane and gets an instant 10% , which will you believe? if there are a number of cars run on the day , more accurate conclusions can be drawn . however there is a point where these results also become even more questionable. if slip is detected and extra bodies are required I feel the car needs to find another set of rollers or way of measurement.

everyone I have spoken to has been surprised at the result.
I mentioned WL as I remember P20Spd got a particular result @ WL with a spec not that faar beyond my own with a smiliar base car. thats all.
Then again- maybe my expectations were too high anyway.
It clearly needs some mapping work to bring the power further down in the rev range.

I think it must have been the "get loads of people to try our new rolling road" day at scoobyclinic, just one of many such days coming up this year all over the country!
