any point in remapping the car with the center cat in place?
assuming the up and downpipes have been removed......can this be done? and is it sensible (probably not)?
Im hoping Mr Rawle will be able to tell me this as hes mapping my car on the 26th (thanks bob), this is a legitimate question, im sure a few people have thought it, im just dumb enough to actually ask
given that people put the center cats back on to pass emmisions test (when warm) was there any point in actually mapping the car with it in place
ta,
Neil

Yes of course it can be mapped, the cat restricts to a certain degree but you have already moved the most restricitive parts
IMHO i would remove it & find a nice garage to MOT your car

i already have removed it (at the mo its full decat), its been tek3'd once already but the map is pretty out its not doing the engine any good and i cant boot it at all (without a full bottle of booster in it)....i was just contemplating putting it back in, for the sake of a few horses....and hassle come MOT..

i get red on the knocklink at 3k, 4k, 5k rpm when running on optimax, even when running a full bottle of NF i still get 2 greens.....its just nasty det spikes really, and far too many of them.....and actually not enough power either :P funny thing is i should come out of this map 30bhp up, similar torque up and no det!
i occasioanlly get jumps up to orange when im idling
fingers crossed......

Just leave it out. When you do the MOT you can easily replace it and get it bck off the same day.

i would like to hear bobs opinion on this as hes obviously doing the work, i know the center isnt overly restrictive but i suppose sods law will be that if i do do it this way, it wont pass the bloody mot anyway with it in!!!

Thats why id lean towards leaving it out - might not pass. I dont think you'd notice the difference on the road with it in / out although the map might be slightly different.
Best to map with it out, then put back in when need be rather than the other way round I would have thought. I had the same situation with my HKS Bung
