I would go for the Safety Devices one.
I have a 6 point cage with nothing removeable, and it looks nothing like Marks!
It took me about 6 hours to strip the interior, position/weld/bolt/pad and refit the interior with the wife helping ( )
Can send pics if you like on this thread.
No dashboard cutting and the only loss is the rear seat, although you can get someone (supple) in the osr seat.
Have a Custom Cages one in my hill climb 911 and that was a very good fit.
Graham.

Graham,
Would deffo like to see a pic of the front legs around the top frame of the door / dash & floor mounting. (That's the cage NOT your wife )
Interested to know what series are you hillclimbing in ? As I'm going to h/c / sprint mine.
SM,
Care to expand ?

From memory:
Safety Devices Demon Tweeks (finished) c.£500
OMP Demon Tweeks (unfinished) c.£330
Sparco Demon Tweeks (unfinished) c.£330
R&D Direct (unfinished) £350 ish ?
Custom cages Direct (unfinished) £350
(Includes both doorbars)
I know SD are the market leader but there's a hell of a price difference for having it powder coated, I'm tempted with the Custom cages, but want to see the front cage fitment before shelling out.

Dunk, just got to this thread again.
I'll put some pics up this afternoon of the fitment.
Remember you must have an FIA approved cage, must be of the right material.
Some people sell cages for the 'street' and they are not the same stuff.
I lost the sunvisor mountings fitting mine as i wanted to fit padding on the front top cross bar (so will the scutineers)
When I crashed my 911 at Shelsley Walsh I smashed my helmet in the top bar on impact, so cost me a new crash hat too
Probably due to my poor forward thinking I lost the use by 3mm of the dash board glove box. Should have measured better first.
The rar seat upright part will interfere with the cage also, and the trim around the rear wheelarch 'C' post.
The pics will show this.
I hill climb in the Midlands Hill climb Championship which takes in the hills of Loton Park close to Shrewsbury (my Club's track), Shelsley Walsh (Worcester) and Prescott (Cheltenham).
I some times stray to other venues, Cornbury Park and the dreaded Curborough sprint track (hate it, too difficult!)

Here is a link to my track car with a safety devices roll (Rear) you can buy the front one aswell which connects to the rear cage.
Thinking of getting the front one in a few months.
The cage looks very strong and Safety Devices do have a good name.
Hope this helps

Now got the prices to hand:
SD finished = £508
OMP (unfinished) = £318
Sparco (unfinished) = £385
Custom Cages (unfinished) = £357
It needs to be homologated as you rightly point out, so no toilet roll tubes painted black or bike inner tubes at the window .
SD are good (had them years ago & have one in my Strada - when only they & Alley Bars existed) but I can't see the extra £150 to be worth it, how much's a can of paint ?
Looking forward to the pics. I'm going to give the Practical Performance Car Speed Championship a whirl, as the rounds are more local to me.
Nice rear cage RB, can't beleive that you haven't added a front to it yet......get spending !
Cheers,
D

I paid 328 for my saftey devices 6 point boltin delivered from peter lloyd in bridgend 01656 724777, Its the 3rd sd cage i've had, they all fitted quite well. I too lost the use of me glove box but that is no hardship.

I've often wondered about this as mines not FIA approved but non of the scrutineers have ever mention it. Even rand SD to check and they recommended a weld in one, funny that.
One time the guy in front got pulled up for non FIA approved padding on his cage.

Thks for the pics, pretty much decided to go for the OMP as it also bolts to the A & C pillars. FIA approved is a must, don't see the point in splashing out & running the risk, or being limited in future for what I could use it for.
Best get the C/card & welder out.

FIA is a must (IMHO) simply for peace of mind, BUT, I do take your point Mark.
For our racing in the Championships a full 6 point is mandatory.
The BEST guy to ask is the Eligibility Scrute for the Championship as it will be him or one of his team that will pull you at an event. The Calerk of the Course has to follow his judgement too.
As to additional bolt points of the other cages, I'm warey as it stiffens the shell and will lead to additional stresses elsewhere as happened in my 911.
Instead of a flexible shell you have a stiff centre and the 'outer' structures have to take more of the strain.
Hill climbing realy puts a shell through hell due to high speeds and twisting un-flat surfaces.
Weld it well!
Good luck. Had to take one rear door off to get the one piece middle/rear secrion into the car.
