Have read on here several times about a Z4 ECU as an upgrade to early classics. Have tried searching, but "Z4" is too short a word to search for apparantly
Is this the chip from the 260 ps WRXs that can simply replace the 240 ps chip from my MY93? ie all you do is take one out and put the other one in for an instant 20 ps?!
If this is the case, where can I get one!
Thanks

Yes you are correct. Its from the 260PS Version. I have a Z4 ecu in my 94 WRX. I got it second hand on this forum for £240 with a VOS chip installed in it.

What you need is the complete ecu.
They go for about 150 - 200 on here.
Yup its a simple case of unplug old ecu plug in new z4 ecu and off you go.
The vos chip mentioned above is a seperate thing altogether.
Stick to just the z4 ecu to begin with if i were you as it is a nice safe mod.
The vos chip would require monitoring with a knock link as it has a very agressive map. (the vos is simply a chip which can be plugged into any ecu.)
For some reason there is a common mis belief on here that they work better in a z4 when in fact they work the same in any ecu as once the j1 resistor is cut the ecu takes all its info from the chip.
