Default Banjo bolts

Hi again

I was told that If i was changing my TD04 turbo to a VF then I would need the VF banjo bolt that goes into the block for oil supply as the VF one has a smaller bore hole than the TD04 bolt. I take it that the TD04 bolt is too big and would flow too much oil for a VF turbo??

Can anyone confirm this please??

thanks

The Oil supply pipe/banjo's etc on the head and on the turbo are identical. The only difference between a TD04 and a VF series turbo is that the water pipes on the turbo itself are not interchangable. If the oil supply pipe was different you would not be able to fit a TD05/06 turbo to a later STi (for example) without the oil pipes/banjo's being supplied also.

It was the bore of the bolt going into the head I was worried about

Sorry... IIRC the bolt in the top of the turbo is different bore on the VF turbo's

Head banjo is the same diameter internally

Sorry to disagree, but I asked the same question a month or so ago and Bob Rawle advised using the correct size, see http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...ighlight=turbo

The bolts are different, VF bolt hole is smaller.

I don't stock the parts but they should only be a few £'s from your dealer (as fitted to new Sti uk)

Here are my pics of the two bolts, as you can see there is a huge difference, It will run ok on the td04 bolt but ideally you will need to fit the vf series bolt

Anyone got a part number for the VF series bolt ?
If you let me know what model I can get one off and where on the engine I can find it I shall search my copy of the parts database.

Nope, part not listed for any i.e P1, or later 01-03 STi.
It's on there but comes back with 'no applicable part'.

I think it starts with 14439, but it's not 14439AA010..thats the TD04 part.

Roger Clarke are out of stock at the moment but they are getting some more in, they seem to have a bit of a run on these bolts over the last couple of weeks, wonder why that should be

Just been on the phone to Roger Clarke and found out the following :

The Banjo that goes the Block end has a the filter (Pt.No stu21 or 14445AA002)
The Banjo that goes the Turbo end has the small hole (Pt.No stu18 or 15194AA130)

We are not sure if the filter end had a small hole, but this part is £15+VAT
The Turbo end banjo is £8+VAT

Needless to say I am trying to get hold of both (they are out of stock of the Turbo end).

Hi,

I just fitted my Legacy turbo with VF28. it didn't come with banjo bolt. The stock turbo for legacy is IHI VF12 and I'm using the same banjos with VF28. Can anyone tell me for sure if the banjo bolts are same or work correctly?

BTW I had TD04 for a year without problems when using VF12 banjo bolts..

Thanks!
