Hi I have just bought a 1994 wrx and I am having problems with the fuel gauge in fact it does not read at all. I have been told if I earth out the wires going to the fuel sender unit the gauge will move eliminating the sender from being faulty. This will only leave the wiring or the Speedo or the Speedo itself. Can anyone tell me where the fuel sender is located I have had a quick look and there are 2 black screwed black covers one behind the drives seat in the back and one behind the passengers seat in the back on the right it has a white plug with 4 wires going to in and under the cover in the left it has 2 wire going to in. which is the fuel sender located in.
