Default Bigger turbo on a UK car?

I know this will have been asked before, but without trawling through millions of posts, it's not easy to find a simple, straight answer.

Here goes:

Can a TD05 (or similar VF) be fitted to a MY98 UK car and if it can does the car need something like a "piggy back" board in the ECU, to allow some possibility of re-mapping to cope with it?

Can non ECU methods be utilised? ie: injectors, fuel pump & pressure regulator, etc, etc.

Is it worth doing, or do I just wait until I've changed the car for a newer one??

Of course it's worth doing. But the MY98 isn't the best for ECU mods.

An FE TD05 or similar VF will go on fine. ( i ran a VF30 on an MY98).
Ecu wise, loads to choose from...Apexi, Link, Gems etc....

You mentioned Injectors/pump/reg...injectors/reg not 100% necessary, but depends on your goal, however, i would definately do pump.

That's an understatement !!!!!!!

Obviously, I never knew about Scooby tuning and ECU's, etc before I bought the car. I think if I had known, I'd have tried to find a MY99.....TEK is the easy way innit??

I've got a fuel pump to fit when I get home and I think I'll get the pressure regulator too.

Reckon I might just stick with what I've got.....EBC, FCD, full decat, and I'll change my panel filter for a decent induction kit. I should see about 260-270 ish then I'd hope. The car showed 244 at Well Lane last year, before the FCD and EBC, so I'm hopeful!!

Cheers lads,

Marty

I opted for Gems in the end, but certainly wasn't the cheapest option.
