DEFI GAUGES ILLUMINATION QUESTION
To save me having to rip the car apart trying to find out what has happened to the back lighting on my gauges. (fitted by first owner) Can somebody tell me where the back light wiring is recommended to be fitted and does any one have any suggestions as to why the gauges light up when the ignition is turned on but then go out.
All help appreciated Regards

It is standard for the lights to momentarily light up when you start the car. the back lighting would be wired to your lighting circuit. the previous owner could have taken a feed from anywhere but first place I would look is the wire that lights the cig lighter up.

defis do a self test on 1st power up, ie ignition turn, then go to default settings based on wiring and status of engine running.
it sounds like the light control isnt wired in.
trace each of the wires from the defi back to where they are linked to wiring loom, and the one for lighting should be spliced into the purple wire at the back of the fog light switch.
