And as if by magic.........he replies!
Hello M8, how are things?
Running an Sti6 RA now and she's had Motul 15/50 in her. A bit to thick at the cold end for this time of year for my liking so I'm now running some Millers CFS 10/40 until the first track day in April.
Rrecommendations are:
Winter up here :10/40 Comma is good but I do like Millers CFS as well, especially at £27 for 5L!)
Summer : 15/50 Motul/Mobil1 - for continued abuse Scoobs
Only really need a 10/60 if your really rag the car and run lots of boost and track days ie hot engine! otherwise it seems to overly stress out the bearings on the oil pumps!
ps - how the car running!

I went to autosportif (subaru rally experts) who advised me putting fully sin oil in any scooby will damage the engine and it must be part sin, 15w 40?? i have opened a thread about oil a few times on here and have been advised mobile 1 motorsport is the best but when i mentioned that to these boys they laughed at me
I do know these boys are 100% subaru experts as they have engines sent to them from all the subaru rally teams....advise??

Hi Russel
Things are good,Hows u? just recovering from new year!!, Will have to see this new toy of yours!!
cars running fine thanks, seems to be a lot of interest in this thread, and a lot of different opinions on the subject, ive run the car on coma 5/40 for 10k and dont seem to be having any problems, not done or going to be doing any track days, 5miles to work, 5 miles back, 50 miles weekend running, gets a bit of a blast at the weekend but nothing savage, like it too much to either blow it up or write it off!!!!! so do you think this is an oil for all year round sort of running or should i be changing it for cold hot seasons? Whats your thought on the gearbox/diff oil? was also thinkin of a v8 scoop for my car so could u get a deal on that one for me?/ heard milsport are the boys??
Cheers mate

GB for these scoops is going on on www.p1woc.co.uk and is at a price I cannot match (£8-10 more) so it might be best to go with them.
5/40 is OK-ish for winter but I feel it is a little too thin overall (makes the valvetrain a bit noisy) and would go for a 10/40 at that point.
