yes it is a rollerbearing turbo, that doesn't make it a better turbo though, to be honest i would have a tdo5 over a vf28 if i had the choice of them at the same money.
tdo5 is a lot stronger and will make a little more power.

the standard td05 is good for over 350bhp so if you are not looking for more than that its not worth changing.
an uprated fuel pump, mappable ecu, front mount and bigger injectors would be the next things on my list.

my vf 28 spooled around 3400 rpm
im led the belive the td05 is a little bit later, but for the benifits you might as well just get the extra power and the much stronger turbo (which can be rebuilt if it breaks, unlike the ihi stuff)
