Intake manifold swappability?

Intake manifold swappability?
I have a MY98 that I have been slowly trying to shoehorn a JDM new age intercooler into, the issue is that the location of the BOV on the endtank conflicts with the location on the idle control valve on the manifold. Badly enough that the plan is to saw off the angled BOV mounting point, weld a plate over it, and weld on a 90deg elbow to set it up like the original intercooler.
But it is possible for me to get my hands on a later intake manifold.
So now I wonder if the sensors like TPS and idle control valve are compatible among the different manifolds (no TGV needed), even if it comes down to splicing harness leads onto the sensors clibs (if the clips were different or whatever) would the sensors be electrically compatible? Heck I could even put in the insulator spacers while i was at it

Later MY99-00 manifolds will not bolt on to your heads. Fuel rail brackets are also different. ISCV is different.
Basically, everything is different. Even more so with the later MY01+

Ok cool, thanks very much, saves me the wrench time, as I came across a few of those manifolds, and I was assuming they were near as interchangable as the exhaust manifolds.

Yes! thats the setup, what specific intercooler is that ? Mines a MY03
JDM STI, it maybe that size or a bit wider over the turbo, the breather pipe bolt holes are a bit different location so its hard to tell.
Im definitely on track, I have the flange sawn off, and blockup plates perfectly cut and ready to weld, but I havent started up the angled pipe bit yet, I cant find anyone near me to do the bloody welding.
What have you done about support bracket on the passenger side?
I have the support brackets from the MY03, the gearbox mounted one for the driver side I can make work, but the passenger side doesnt have the right bolt holes on the inlet manifold to get around the IC corner to the support flange.

Mines a MY02 WRX IC, so a little smaller than yours.
I used the MY03 bracket on the drivers side and modified the old bracket on the pass side (cut, bent and re-welded)
