Boost and Boost Duty Quesiton...
Okay….so I have been driving around and need some advise on Boost!
I am running a FMIC and an AVC-R for boost control
Am I ok to aim for 1.4bar of Boost?
Also I have noticed that if I put the boost to 1.3 bar and the Duty to near 74%, the boost spikes at 1.42bar, and I feel this being allot quicker then the setting with where the boost is set to 1.4bar, with the relevant duty so that the boost does not rise above that figure…Can this be true?
Any help appreciated….

In terms of are you safe to aim for 1.4 bar..... what was the car mapped to? What ever that was, stay there.
Regarding the car overboosting when set at 1.3 bar, i'd say it would feel quicker than car set with an initially low duty cycle which builds slowly and doesn't over shoot the target. The trick is to get it just right between the two. I have to say i have a bit of an overshoot set on mine but i also check that the fuel/ignition map can cope with this spike.

Overshoot can feel a bit flat when it pulls it back afterwards, but 0.1 bar or so is par for the course with an AVC-R. If you allowed it to self learn, it would end up correcting back to about this anyway, assuming it was near enough to self learn.
Best boost control in most people's opinion is critically damped where there is a small overshoot and then it settles without oscillation that is noticeable.
