engine wiring
hello all.
what i am trying to do is fit an sti v4 engine into a uk spec my99. BUT the two looms are not the same ie. car and engine. is it possible to conect the two by swapping/joining wires or do i need the whole loom out of the car aswell.???
many thanks.

Assuming you are going to run the 99 ecu then you need a number of bits off the 99 engine.. I believe the cam pulleys and sensors are different.
you will also run into trouble possibly with the idle valve and throttle position sensor.
it would be easier to fit the complete inlet manifold with idle valve, throttle position sensor and injectors and engine wiring loom etc off the 99 car but unfortunatly the manifold is not a straight swap as the heads cause the manifold to be longer on one over the other.
Assuming you have the 99 engine sat there to take the bits off the engine wiring loom should not be a problem to swap if you remove the manifold to ease removal, the idle valve and throttle position sensor might be a straight swap you never know your luck.
it will not run tohugh without matching cam and crank pulleys and sensors to the ecu year.
