Default More power from my uk car

i've got a MY99 uk Impreza which has got a full de-cat exhaust, sti panel filter and a tek3 remap, i'm looking at getting more power/torque from it without paying out stupid money, i'll willing to spend about another grand on it, any ideas? will i benefit from changing my standard intercooler to a sti one?

I'd put a PACE front mounted intercooler on it for that money. No cutting of bumper required, looks the biz and reduces temps considerably. This will erradicate the heatsoak that top mount intercooler suffers from, and will become a good platform for any future mods.
