Your current turbo has a higher power potential than a VF28 and should spool up only marginally slower. A number of people actually upgrade from a VF28 to your current turbo.

Is your car a saloon? If it is then it has the TD05 which is a great turbo!

Get a decat for more power!

The td05 which your car should have if it's a saloon, is better than all those turbos mentioned from a power perspective, while only being a little slower spooling that a VF24. It will still out power and out spool a VF22.
