Default Air Conditioning Noise 04STI

Hi,

I have a new STI 04, and have noticed when Air con is on - every minute or so I get a short pppssst noice that lasts for about 3 secs.

I have just had a 1000 mile service and mentioned it to the dealer who said it was normal. Well I didnt have that on my 03 WRX so I think they could see I didnt believe them. Anybody else have this noise on their 03/04/05 STI ?

The AC on Scoobs has never (IMHO) been that good.

My MY04 WRX Wagon's AC makes all sorts of odd noises, and every now and again has a gentle 'thud' followed by a hissing noise. The noise is followed by a bought of freshly delivered cold air though!

This 'feature' is just the same as my old MY99. The AC works, does make some odd sounds and seems to be a bit colder sometimes than others. Add to that the fact it makes the engine performance a bit jumpy and stuttery and it’s what I’d call a class package.

I don’t use it that much, as a prefer to have my windows down to listen to my exhaust note

J.

Mine makes a groaning noise when the A/C clutch cuts in, otherwise works OK.

My MY02 makes an identical sound along with many others. Nothing to worry about, the thing that annoys me is the 'surging' it causes the engine at low speeds.
