I have started doing the knock sensor on my Legacy TT and its damned tight to get to it. I have bled all the coolant out just so that I can disconnect pipes without getting soaked!!! My problem is I can see the sensor but cant get a socket square on it because of the black air flow pipe that is under the big silver intake. I need to move the black pipe only about 1/4 inch so I can get at the sensor easily. Any ideas. I have moved the power steering pump and resevoir and the air intake filter and pipe and loosened the pipe where it goes into the two turbos. Its driving me mad.

While I am at it is there a good way to flush out the heater matrix as I have the pipes disconnected?

Maybe if you use a 3/8" universal joint, it will allow you to get the socket on the bolt, and have the extension bar and ratchet coming out at an angle ?
