the better half

i am about to get some of the above mentioned wing mirrors, these are the ones that fold themselves in.

as i have a UK spec MY99 impreza, the RB5

i was wondering if i would be a straight replacement or will i have to do any mods to electrics/relays????

also do these mirrors include a de-frosting (heating) element in them?


any help advice would be mucho appreciated.

I imagine it would be a bit of a chore. They aren't heated.

The mirrors contain the motor, but you will need to give it a switched feed, fuse, and install a switch to operate them. Not that hard to do if you know a little about electrics.

Talizman fitted them to his RB5. As long as you have the switch its a case of running two wires from the switch to the mirrors. I thought it would be quite involved with relays and switches etc but apparently is no more than the said 2 wires.

Should have some for my UK car in the next few days too

Well mine have turned up just now. Hopefully being an EU car it may have the 2 wires already fitted.

One question though is how to get the door cards off to get to the mirrors.

thats easy, even i managed to do that

there's about 3 screws that hold it on then u just have to lift it up and backwards to release the clips from the inner door skin.
