I am currently considering buying an STi Type R MY98. However I wouldn't want to take the chance of running the car on our Fuel (Optimax etc) and OB, been there had the T-Shirt. So are there any options for the MY98 Jap ECU's to be Remapped ?? I have been told and have certainly read that the MY97/98 are not able to be remapped etc ?

I don't have the money needed to run Motec etc ?

Any advice view most welcome.........

i know 4 people running jap imports and only ever run 95 ron fuel no det and all that perlarva (spelling?) have done for about 4-5 years no problems at all

Blimey 4-5 years on 95Ron, I am impressed I assume they have KL's etc to show no Det ?? Thanks for that most interesting

Apexi Power FC are a good bit of kit. That's what I'm doin with my 98 Type R shortly

Thanks Grantyboy - I assume you use OB etc on yours ?? If so how long have you been running your Type R without a Remap etc ?

Been running my Type R for nearly 3 years, decat, knocklink, boost gauge and no remap. No problems but use Optimax and NF only
