power seems to back off when accelerating
Just started to notice this as ive got used to the car. Under full throttle I can feel a kind of stuttering as the car accelerates, it feels like it is backing off slightly at times. Doesnt do it all the time , seems to do it more if ive been driving steadily for a while and then decide to boot it. Ive also noticed that a couple of times when ive been out in the car then stopped somewhere for 5 mins and then set off again it doesnt seem to boost properly the first few times I floor it. The ecu was reset last week and ive only done about 150 miles since, could it be the ecu is still learning my driving style.

Sounds like it could be heat soaking the intercooler.
I get this occasionally if i've been sat in traffic - first attempt to floor it results in a bit of hesitation due to the higher inlet temps. Once all the heat has been purged from the inlet system everything is back to normal.
That's what you get for having the intercooler sat on top of a hot engine!

Could be several things really, to name but a few...
Failing MAF.
Sticking wastegate solenoid.
Failing lambda sensor (if it does it on part throttle).
The dreaded "D" word... although doubtful, depends on MY, mods, fuel used, etc...

Its a y reg 2001 model, its just had a new lambder fitted before I bought it. It tends to feel a bit jerky under partial throttle, pulls a bit and then a jerk and then carries on pulling. Ive just fitted a diy cel fix to the car, could this be causing any problems. When it was dyno'd last week no problems were found and the power curve was lovely and smooth, just seems to have got a bit lumpy over the past week.
