Default Which tool?!

Alright lads

Does anyone know what type of tool I could use to remove a stud extractor
which is stuck inside a snapped bolt?!

I tried to remove a 10mm bolt (M8 thread - which holds down a bracket
supporting the power steering fluid cooling pipe
on the bonnet slam panel) but the head snapped off, so I drilled a pilot
hole and put a stud extractor
in (the type where its a HSS shaft with reverse thread).

The bolt was seized so much that the extractor snapped!

So then I tried to drill the thing out, but it blunted the HSS drill bit....

Should I try drilling it all out with a carbide-tip drill or anything else
thats harder than HSS?

There is no other access to the bolt to be able to put a decent flat on
it...
...and the bolt isnt long enough to put 2 nuts on the other end to unscrew
it.

Maybe I could drill out from the other side, but the extractor is still
stuck in it!

So, what now? Any suggestions?
Maybe I should just re-drill a new hole and move the bracket - leaving an
unsightly snapped bolt
in full view?!

Cheers

you will never drill out the stud extractor ...unfortunatly you will have to move the bracket ......you dont have to see the snapped part ...you could put a small amount of filler on it and spray black ...or underseal ...loadsa ways .....the only way you could remove the stud extractor (if you can get to it) is drill through the back with a slightly larger drill untill you reach the extractor ....then with a good quality centre punch hammer it out .....if you can do this then you can drill the remainder of the bolt out and re-tap the thread & fit a new bolt.

You could try welding a nut over it ?
Maybe the heat will help ?
