Question Gaugesand Knocklink - Live wire HELP required please!

Hi,

I fitted a mechanical boost gauge from HKS over the weekend and was gutted when having spent a significant amount of time fitting and wiring I turned the car lights on and the gauge stayed dark. Doh!

The wire I used as the power supply (only on when lights are on) was the purple wire with silver flecks going in to the fog light switch. Does anyone know if there is another wire I can try or if I have used the wrong wire (I do not have a multimeter to check!)?

Also, has anyone had problems with these gauges not lighting up when they should?

Also, I have fitted a knocklink but not wired in the power supply, does anyone know of a wire that is easier to get to than the cigarette lighter one so that I do not have to take half the dash apart?

Cheers

Si
