Default Where do people mount there Commander Unit ??

As above , just cannot seem to find an Ideal place, Short of cutting a hole in the dash & just leave the screen poking through

I wouldnt do as you suggest Dean.
that would make the buttons useless on the road and they can prove very handy

heres mine, mounted to a mobile holder with velcro

its just a std. mobile holder, bent round to face the driver head on, its a 4mm (?) steel bracket thats tied in behind the dash and was on the car when I bought it.

for another look at where to mount have a look at AndyF's write up in the current scoobymag

Have you routed your cable through the dash so it's not visible ??

Plan is to get the commander unit installed ready for the map on Sat

use the two strips of velcro that came with your commander to stick it anywhere on the dash/console.
if you stick the velcro to the commander up/down and to the dash left/right then it wont be difficult to get off/on say at night.
you can then go about sorting a nice tarty version out when all done.

If you look closely the cable goes into the gap just on the corner of the dash opening and holds up there when the dash is open. The cable then goes throught the dash to the ECU, wllowing it to be taken off the holder to be used.

Good luck with the map, still waiting to complete the bumper cut for my fmic..then the injector change then my map hopefully early next week...

Sam,

Swapped my injectors last night, Bugger Me what a job, defo would of been easier with a top mount Instead of a front mount, Remove pipework, Maf, Took the first injector cap off, would the blighter come out, No chance, ended up using adjustable plumbers pliers & still struggled then, Almost knocked myself out when it finally popped . Had to modify the power steering pipework brkts as they fowled the injector covers once fiited as the 550's are taller.
Have to tootal now until Sat & i don't really do tootalling
