Res or non-res decat centre pipe? Differences?
Just fitted a H&S 4.5 inch rear box using my Magnex centre decat non resonated centre pipe. JESUS CHRIST!! HOW LOUD???!!! One hell of a difference from the PPP rear box!
Is there much/any difference in sound if using a resonated centre section?
At the moment im about to refit the original catted pipe section just to stop my ears bleeding on the way to work in the morning!
I like the tone and superb grumble but its just a tad too boomy.
Any ideas??

I run a H&S downpipe, Magnex resonated centre and Magnex b/b. The system is very quiet in car. No droning or real vibration and was measured at about 90 db outside [ normal 45deg angle 4000 RPM, 0.5M from the pipe reading ]

I ran a H&S Decat D/P a H&S Afterburner non resonated centre pipe and *original* scoobysport Back Box......very loud but more importantly very very raspy I made 103.6 at Castle Combe noise testing and the sound level was still increasing I have since fitted a Ninja Resonated centre and it is much better on the ears (although it is still quite loud). The car does feel as if it has lost a little bit of 'zip' but nothing that I am prepared to worry about
