Default High revving

First thing in the morning when its cold does anybody else's car seem to run at a high rev, as mine shoots to 1500rpm straight away then eventually comes down slowly when it starts to warm up.

After a certain time it dies down to normal idleing speed, what could cause this to run at a high rev.

I know that it'll go above the normal idle speed when cold but not to 1500 rpm though.

Any explanations.

Cheers for any help.

Agreed

Mine sits at 1100rpm when warm and around 1500rpm when cold (For some reason the uprated fuel pump raised the tickover rpm slightly). Varies a little from car to car but it's perfectly normal.
