Default How to clean an STi TMIC?

Excuse the ignorance but was wondering IF its possible to clean the TMIC without damaging it?

IF so, whats the best cleaning agent for it? Water (lol) ?????

The best cleaner is petrol! Doesn't need much, about a jam jar full. Pour it in and gently 'roll' the IC about so it flushes through all the channels. I taped-over all the outlets except the DV pipe to minimise spillage. Do this for a good 2 to 3 mins and leave to stand. Keep on doing it again and pour out safely.
It will be brown with disolved oils, gum etc. Remove all tape.
Leave outside for a few hours to dry off completely before re-fitting.
