Jap '93 WRX intermittently not coming on boost.
Help.
Got a '93 Jap spec WRX import which most of the time drives like a non turbo. You can hear the turbo spinning up, but it's still gutless. As this is an intermittent problem could it be a sticking wastegate or an actuator fault, in which case what's the best cure?

visual inspection of actuator ....make sure linkarm moves ....if that seems ok ......
.....i would first be checking all your piping coming from your intercooler .....a common fault with these is that the main plastic intake which connects to the front of the compressor side of your turbo could be split .......if you cant see any splits get a can of carburetter cleaner spray or something simular .....with the engine running spray around your throttle body , intercooler pipework and compressor side of your turbo .......if your engine RPM`z rise then you have a airleak at the point you sprayed.
i would make these checks first .......i`m guessing that you dont have a boost gauge fitted ??
