Default PRODRIVE??????

Sorry to sound a little thick but im new to scoobys and looking for me first. Seen a couple ads for scoobys that say prodrive kit fitted to engine and prodrive suspention?
What is prodrive and what does it do???
Also i noticed one that said prodrive numberxxxxxxxxxxx, when they have been modded do they get a diff chasis num or just a prodrive number??
Is it worth going for one of these as insurance dictates a uk spec.

Thanks for the help guys
Paul.

Now then Paul,

Prodrive is a company that provides various upgrades for many cars. They have strong links with Subaru and the rally teams over the years.

The prodrive kit is probably listed as a PPP or Prodrive Performance Package.
It should be something like ECU upgrade, exhaust, filter etc. It will give more power than standard but its not to everyones taste as more power can be had for less money with other mods.

Have a look on http://www.prodrive.com/Intromovie.htm for a bit more info or do a search here for "PPP" and see what that brings up.

Hope this helps.

Paul
Prodrive Performance Package power upgrade depends on which MY (model year) it is fitted to and what model i.e.STi or WRX
Basically
MY99-00 237BHP 260lbft up from 215BHP
New Style WRX 265BHP up from 225BHP
New Style STi 305BHP up from 265BHP

When you refer to Prodrive number then i think you are looking at RB5 WR Sport which came with the PPP fitted as new and had a numbered plaque as limited to 444 built.

P1 also has number but of course was 276BHP out the box and was developed by Prodrive.

Prodrive styling and suspension/wheel package upgrades are other items that could be fitted as well as interior upgrade depending on age of model. i.e. MY97/98 could have interior pack.

Other models are available such as Series Macrae/Terzo etc these are usually 208 BHP unless upgraded with PPP - again around 240bhp for those.

Hope this helps rather than confuses
