adjustable actuator plunger thing...?
just to check, wind it out, less tension, more control over boost.
wind it in, more tension, less control over boost.
sound about right?
just like the dawes, in for more boost, out for more control.
almost got to the bottom of my grief, just need to cut back about 1/2 a bar of boost at the top end.

Tighter holds the wastegate shut, so you go looser to lose boost. However, make sure you can feel the flapper seating and not flapping about otherwise spool up will die. Also, you may struggle to get it to drop to 0.5 bar at the top if you run much higher than that in the midrange with a Dawes.
If you state your models and mods and what you are trying to achieve or what problem you are trying to solve that would help more.

sorry,
my99 apexi fc/avc-r/fetd05
overboosting/creep.
supposed to hit 1.3bar peak and have been hitting fuel cut (.2bar over boost)
adjustable actuator from td04 used as td05 was lacking.
was adjusted by me, thinks now too tight.
loosened it off a bit and this morning was down to 1.36bar, need to just shed that 1/2 bar.
until suitable td05 actuator arrives I am stcuk and dont want to boost the *** of it.
hence, trying to take it out on the plunger...

top for the night shifters...
took it out another half turn (plunger) and it was down to 1.32bar in fifth at 5300 engine speed.
cant see that its going to mess my map unless the ecu is concerned with the wastegate duty. it should just be a mechanical operation.
I would think that the ecu just sets top boost limit and that the avc-r is supposed to be controlling the boost via the apexi solenoid within that limit, problem has been that Ive somehow overshot that limit.
the only other thing thats in the back of my mind is what floyd posted on 22b about the restrictor in the wastegate pipe..
when I ran dawes, I had a restricted wastegate pipe (could feel the little bobble in the small dia. pipework), not sure if Im still running one with the apexi solenoid, or indeed if I should be....?
although, surely if this didnt happen on the mapping run then I suppose it could be a vacuum leak somewhere..

1.35 bar is no problem, we hit there plus some during mapping, even 1.5 will be safe although not necessarily any faster as it is rich/retarded up there for safety reasons.
