Has anyone ever had a tank of poor quality optimax?

I ask this cause i buy regular at the local shell and have recently been getting red lights from the K/L.

I bought optimax from another station for the last two tanks and K/L reds have gone and car runs great!!

whats your opinion on that?

I have had a similar experience - It depends how often the garage's supply is replenished as iirc the octane rating deteriorates over a short period of time

Cheers

I've found that £40 worth lasts me 2-3 weeks. By the time I'm down to 1/4 of a tank I can feel the difference, although not had a KL Red light yet.

Personally at the rate I get through it, I prefer Esso as it seems more consistant.

Im fairly sure I suffered at the hands of Optimax last week.
I had increased activity on the knock count.
I use about £40 every third day though so I just eased off the boost till it was gone.

if its going to be in the tank for any length of time you might be able to add some booster.
