Unhappy Car Stuttering. Please HELP

Car is MY98 fitted with induction kit, full decat and power engineering piggy back ECU.
Now the problem which is getting worse. When driving along off boost the car occasionally feels like it is trying to cut out and missfires also sometimes driving along the rev counter falls from 3000 to 0 and then shoots back up again without any noticable jerking.
There are no fault codes in the ECU

Please Help!!

Car wont start now. Got home from work car, was fine on way home. Now gone to go out again and the car wont start, its turning over ok but making no attempt to start.

Fuel pump relay cutting the fuel off. Fuel pump on its way out.

I had this too, I'm not going to say its fixed, but Tuesday I changed my pump and it refused to pump, when the ignition was turned on or you cranked it over.

I've now run a seperate earth to another point, and the pump now works.

Things to check frist off.

The connector under the back seat, some people have reported this being burnt
The multiplug on the hanger

Run a new earth from the connector under the seat to the body to see if this cures it.
If not reverse to running new 12v to same connector.

You'll see what I mean when you look at it.

Mine did this. I ran the new earth to the earth point inside the boot by the catch, to the negative on the connector under the back seat. I think its the relay on the blink as its a switch earth apparently.

Meant to say cleaned the Cam sensor at the same time. Crank sensor had a small amount of oil and grime on it. The cam sensor had a small amount of grime on it.

can you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the ignition on?

assuming it has an immobiliser I would be looking at running a wire direct to the fuel pump.

Also worth checking the pigback ecu is in correctly and perhaps remove it if it is a straight forward job.. see if it is find on original ecuy and no connections that might be loose etc..

Checked all fuses? fused link?

non-start might be separate issue to stutter which might mask checking the basics..

Do you know what the wiring to the fuel pump is and waht voltages you should get at each pin on the connector under ther seat ?

The fuel pump can be heard running just, it is very quiet. To hear it properly I have had to fold the seat down and remove the cover from above the pump.
I did notice on one occasion that on starting the car it sounded like the pump was drawing in air as well as fuel ( a bit like the sound a fish tank filter makes) this lasted about 30 seconds.

Will check the ECU when it stops raining.

On mine the wiring is black/red stripe from dash to connector and blue/yellow stripe to the plug on the pump hanger. When you comapire the two sets of wires in the connector under the back seat the pump runs on the thicker wires, the others are for the fuel gauge.

You should see 12v for about a second when you switch the ignition on to start and then 12v when you crank it over. Mine gave me 12v at igintion on, but when you cranked it over the voltages went haywire. I am now running a new earth to the one in the boot and all is well again. I will sort out the earthing problem when I can get time off work.
